Who we are

TeaTree Consulting is led by Lila D’souza and Dominic Beckett. 

Dom and Lila met while working with the NSW Aboriginal Land Council several years ago. They share a commitment to social justice and a strong record of achieving outcomes for not-for-profit organisations, in particular Aboriginal community-controlled organisations.

Lila and Dom are currently based in Sydney but they are able to support organisations Australia-wide. They have previously worked across New South Wales, in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Lila D’souza

Lila has been a barrister and solicitor for over 20 years and is very approachable and pragmatic to her clients. Having started her career in frontline legal practice, she has specialised in corporate services and strategic governance for the past decade. Lila has worked in senior executive roles at the Aboriginal Legal Service (NSW/ACT) Ltd and NSW Aboriginal Land Council, serving as a trusted adviser of their CEOs and Directors. She is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a Director of Social Enterprise Finance Australia Ltd. Lila is a mum with two primary school aged kids who is passionate about supporting community organisations and working to achieve Aboriginal social justice. 

Dominic Beckett

Dom has almost 30 years’ experience in the private, government and community sectors as an effective adviser, advocate, negotiator and mediator. Dom practices law with his own small firm and is particularly recognised for his expertise in Aboriginal land rights and native title and related matters, having worked for years with native title bodies and Aboriginal land councils as well as for other for purpose bodies and regulatory agencies. He has qualifications in corporate governance and risk management and is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia . He has trained and worked as a mediator. He currently serves as a Director and the Secretary of Marrickville Legal Centre. Dom is also a dad, a lover of the outdoors an enthusiastic musician and a photographer.
